Africa Female Forex Traders is a community-driven initiative that equips women across the continent to trade with skill and confidence, build an independent income, and reinvest in the people around them.

We want to build a strong community of African women in Forex β one where they can connect, learn, and succeed in the market together. We want to be part of a change that leaves women feeling empowered and in charge of their financial future.

βCommunity means family to me. AFFT is a beacon of hope β a place where every woman doing well in the African industry can come together to empower others and give back to society.β
Dr. Chioma founded AFFT because she saw women being looked down upon in the trading industry. She wanted to create a space where all female traders could come together, be recognized, and work collaboratively. Recognition and collaboration were the biggest gaps she identified β and AFFT became the stepping stone to address them at scale.
As an African female trader, she's always strived to educate women to become financially free through Forex. Building AFFT hasn't been easy β from getting others to see the vision, to leaders stepping back due to life challenges, to moments of doubt. But watching women like Happiness Hanson grow with tenacity and consistency reminded her why this work matters.
The most memorable moment? The charity event organized for widows β turning trading profits into direct support for those who truly needed it. That's what success looks like: a young girl, woman, or mother being sponsored and supported to achieve her dreams through AFFT.
βWe're going to be a globally recognized entity breaking the norms and setting standards concerning females determined to blossom and shine in a male-dominated world. What a man can do, a woman can do best.β
Every programme, mentorship pairing, and community initiative we run is in service of one of these five aims.
We equip African women with the skills to trade Forex profitably and create an independent source of income β reducing economic dependence and helping women generate wealth for themselves and their families.
Structured training programmes, mentorship, and practical resources turn beginners into skilled traders, while broader financial literacy encourages smarter money management across the board.
Members are encouraged to reinvest their trading success in their communities β including our Christmas donation project, which turns trading profits into direct support for the less privileged.
A strong support system where African women share trading insight, strategy, and experience β and connect with established female traders and industry experts for mentorship and opportunity.
We're challenging gender stereotypes in Forex trading by growing female participation, and working directly with brokers and financial institutions to create opportunities built for women.
